Gambling is for the poor

Gambling is the only investment where you calculate how much you are going to lose before putting your money down. All gambling is controlled to make sure that the odds are that the gambler will lose. Of course, once in a while, people win, but the more you play the more you lose. Many people blow over $10 per week on gambling which comes to $520 dollars per year. At the end of the year, that $520 probably becomes about $450, a nice loss of $70.

Investing in stocks is like gambling except the odds are that over time you win! And lately the winnings have been big. Only some of the worst years in history would send $520 to $450. Usually $520 would turn into $575 to $600. Lately $520 has turned into close to $700!

Instead of gambling at casinos, put the money into the stock market. The market is a gamble, but at a least it is gambling with good odds. Many gamblers rave that Black Jack can offer 50/50 odds. This means that over time you break even. Most business people won’t put down even one dollar unless they are sure to get over a 10% gain!

Just look around a casino and you will see a bunch of poor people, and then look around Wall Street and you see a bunch of rich people. It doesn’t take a genius to see that gambling is for people addicted to losing money.
