Never underestimate the stupidity of communists.

When the US rose in power in the early 1900’s it became clear that dictators could not compete. As a result, intellectual elitists who fear giving power and freedom to ordinary individuals, created communism which is nothing more than a fancy dictatorship whose sole purpose is to prevent individuals from gaining freedom, power, and money.

Since communism’s inception the results have been abominable. Germany was split down the middle, one half communist the other half democratic/capitalist. Within 40 years the free side was wealthy, clean, beautiful and fun, while the communist side was poor, polluted, depressed and eventually collapsed. In fact, virtually every communist dictatorship has collapsed and adopted democracy.

Hong Kong has been one of the wealthiest and most successful countries in Asia simply because it was one of the earliest to adopt democracy and free markets. China meanwhile remains one of the poorest countries in the world as its power hungry dictators continue to wreak havoc on the people of China.

Despite the unblemished record of communists destroying everything they get their hands on, the world is very optimistic that Hong Kong will remain a great free country in Asia. But don’t count on it. As long as communists remain in power, it is likely that China will suck the success out of Hong Kong into the pockets of its leaders until Hong Kong is just another communist basket case. Optimists are confident that china will do right because they need Hong Kong to succeed, but if the Chinese had any clue about success, they would not be clinging to the clearly failed philosophy of communism in the first place.
