Louis Farrakhan is a great leader

Most ethnic groups in America have grown out of poverty by banding together with their own people. The African American community has struggled for so long because it has not yet figured out how to stick together and act as a safety net for each other. Most Black and White leaders who are interested in helping the black community are primarily coming up with government or business programs. Farrakhan is one of the only leaders who tells his people not to look for outside help. He tells them to get their own act together and help themselves.

Some of Farrakhan’s words about other nationalities or races seem combative, but he is completely against violence. He talks about problems in other communities, not to incite fights but to teach his people to look to their own community for help. He also talks about the greatness of the black community, not to establish some sort of superiority but to develop confidence and motivation toward self help.

Many people including myself are more alarmed at many of Farrakan’s followers than Farrakan himself. There are black militant separatist groups, violent gang members, and terrorists who find a friend in Farrakan. Although these are scary allies, Farrakan can be a good conduit for the rest of the world to communicate with these enemies who trust Farrakan. Also Farrakan is helping these terrorists learn that violence is never the answer. He teaches that greatness will come from being a productive, honorable, wealthy, and free society. He tells his followers that separate nations, violence, drugs, terrorism, and handouts are inefficient means to their noble goals.

Farrakan may appear scary because he does not suck up to the mainstream opinions and has allies with common emenies, but his group "Nation of Islam" has been peaceful and productive in helping black people and their communities. Also, many people complain about Farrakan’s speeches without even listening. I have only been listening for a couple of years and have found them only to be entertaining, motivational, and positive.
