We had investigations finding more and more evidence against him and put many of his buddies in jail. Despite all the evidence against him, we basically ignored these problems and even re-elected him in 1996.
In 1996 we learned of gross illegal campaign contributions accepted by Clinton and his staff, but no one really cared and he was re-elected anyhow. Clinton admits receiving checks in the White House, which is illegal. He just says, that the check was handed to someone else and "not really accepted" at the White House. Clinton has other lame excuses for his legal transgressions that would never hold up in a fair trial.
Despite the fact that no one cares that the US president consciously breaks the law, the investigation continues to dominate the news. The question is not whether or not he is guilty, we know he is. The question is whether anyone has the balls or desire to fire the president. People should either get up the guts to fire the president for breaking laws or forget it and end all these pointless investigations.
