Emotions create energy, and you can do three things with that energy:
Pack the energy/emotion into a muscle for use later. This can be useful for example if your emotion is to cry but you are talking to your boss and want to hide that emotion. Or if you dont like the work that you do, then you may need to hide the emotions of boredom, anger, frustration, etc, by packing them into muscles. If the emotions are not dealt with later they remain tightened up in your muscles causing stress. You can release that stress energy in the two following ways.
Express the energy/emotion though physical action. You dont just need food to fuel your day. You also need energy. Energy taken from emotions, can be funneled into physical activity like sports or working out. Or if you have a creative project that you enjoy, you can pour your energy into physically working on that project. For example, if you get excited by sex and you want to work out more, convince yourself that every exercise you do will make you better at sex. Working out will make you think of sex, which will create energy, which you can then pour into your workout.
Release the energy/emotion through meditation. Relax, take deep breaths and try to re-live the situation in your head that created the emotions. Just feel the energy sensations from those emotions as electricity rushing through your body. This method is very useful to help you feel emotions that are disturbing or difficult to deal with during normal day activities.
One of the keys to life is to be able to create energy and deal with it efficiently. If you have stress, then you are packing energy into muscles but not releasing it later. If you feel lazy all day, then you are not linking the things that energize you to the things you do. And if you have emotions that you have trouble dealing with, then you may need to take the time to relax and learn to feel those emotions.
