Groups that hang around with each other will tend to have similar traits within that group. If people group together based on race, then it is natural that different race groups will have different traits. Since no two groups are equal, some races will perform better than other races in particular areas. People will then assume that individuals within a particular race will have the traits that are common within that group.
Obviously no trait will apply to everyone in a group, but just as people assume that a person wearing a business suit is higher up in a company than a person wearing shorts, although that may not be true, people will jump to conclusions based on common superficial symbols such as the clothes you wear or the color of your skin.
Since many races teach their young to "hang out with their own kind" and marry someone of a similar race, we can expect specific race trends to continue. Some of the labels on a race will be positive (this race of people are smart), some negative (this race of people don’t work hard), some ridiculous (this race of people procrastinate, as if other races don’t procrastinate), but often these labels have a ring of truth from actual trends.
Until a majority of people start hanging out with different races and inter-marrying, specific race traits will continue, and judging people based on race will continue to make sense.
