Hey. I've been addicted to cigarettes for almost 21 YEARS! I do NOT "consciously" decide to smoke.
Who lights the match? Who inhales? Are you unconscious at the time you do it? Maybe you could unconsciously grab a cig or something, but it is pretty difficult to smoke a whole cig without even realizing it.
Not only can I NOT afford to smoke, I worry constantly about health problems and the social stigmata associated with smoking. I WANT TO QUIT!
Then quit. Its not easy, but that's life. That is probably why you don't have money either, because running your own business takes too much initiative also.
The idea that tobacco companies put extra nicotine in their products to addict us further has no bearing on my problem. You would be SUPRISED at the number of smokers who honestly wish to quit.
I wish I would find a pot of gold in my basement, but I know it will never appear. The only way the gold will appear is if I work my ass off and earn it.
I am sure you and other smokers wish they didn't smoke, but unless you suck it up and take responsibility for your actions, you won't quit.
I agree that the problem is not the tobacco companies but that it is the GOVERNMENT. If all you anti-smoking assholes would like to pay for an effective stop smoking program you would see RESULTS!
Me pay money for you to quit? I could careless whether you quit or not.
Quit spending MILLIONS on anti-advertising and put the money where it would count!
Like in your pocket? The government has enough of my money in their attempts to save the world. I am sure that spending money to get you to quit would be a waste. If you really wanted to quit, you would have already.
Because of your idiotic "efforts" I spend between $60 and $100 a month on tobacco!
Oh, now it is my fault that you smoke?! When you started smoking in High School you thought you were cool and smoked even though you knew it was bad for you. Meanwhile, I was the non-smoking geek at parties that you and your "cool" friends would laugh at.
Well tough guy, now look at who the loser is.
AGAIN, you would be SUPRISED at the amount of smokers who would respond to a low cost or even free EFFECTIVE program to help us get away from this addiction.
Here is your Effective Free Program: (I am sure you will ignore it)
I bet you wouldn't even take the time to do those six things because you enjoy your status quo even though your status quo sucks.
Put it this way: I'll quit cold turkey if one of you whiners and complainers would like to volunteer to have the living crap choked out of them while I go through withdrawals OK?
I had the crap beaten out of me in High School for being a "goody" for not smoking and for studying. Now I have money and am healthy. Its your turn to suffer for your own good. I can see you now: over weight, working like a dog at some repetitive job for no money, and smoking like a chimney.
You made your bed, not me. If I told you at age 15 that you were headed in the wrong direction, I am sure you would have ignored me then also.
Angry,
~Freak~
BTW: My "health coverage" requires me to spend almost $200 to join there stop smoking plan. If you know of a free program in the San Diego area PLEASE send me email...
I dare you to do the program I listed above. I guarantee it will work if you have the desire to stick to it.
Thanks for reading and responding.
