Dear overpaid Nynex executives wearing suits,

I needed a repair-person to fix my phone jack.

I made an appointment with your company for someone to stop by between 12:00-4:00. At 3:30 I called to see how it was going and was told that I needed to be more patient. I called at 4:30 and was told someone was on their way. Then I called at 6:00 and was told someone had come by at 5:19. I was here, so who knows what happened?

We made an appointment for the next morning for someone to come by before 10:00. I called at 10:00 and was told someone would be there by 2:00. I called at 2:00 and was told they would be there by 3:00. I called at 3:00 and was put on hold for five minutes. I hung up, called back, and lost my cool.

I screamed, "When there is a repair person in the area, call me! If I am home, then come by. If not, try again later. I don’t care how you do it, just figure it out!" And I hung up. Then the person who had put me on hold called back and I screamed the same thing. Two minutes later I got a call from a technician who was less than a half mile from my house and came right over.

He was completely unaware of the crap I had gone through and told me he hears this all day long from customer after customer. He said, "Its not just you. We are even doing this to our biggest customers." He was clearly embarrassed.

It makes me sick to think of the hundreds of high paid arrogant executives wearing dark suits who think they are so smart because they have had no problem making money running their monopolies. But competition is on its way fast, and you guys better get your act quick together quick because you’re about to get your ass kicked by the competition.

I can’t wait!
