Everybody on the planet knows that cigarettes are bad for you and are addictive. For some reason tobacco CEO's pretend that cigarettes aren't bad, but who cares? Blaming cigarette companies for problems with smoking is just an attempt by the losers who smoke to put the blame on someone other than themselves.
When I was in High School the choice was clear. If I smoked, I would be cool, would have more friends, would fit in at parties, and would get to eat outside in the cool smoking area. Despite the pressure to smoke, I looked forward ten years down the road to at time when everyone would be trying to quit.
Now it is pay-back time. Some of those losers who made fun of me for being "a goody" are now complaining that they got duped by the cigarette companies. They expect the government or cigarette manufacturers to pay for their health problems. I say, "let them suffer." These people knew what they were getting into. Quitting may be challenging, but not as difficult as getting beaten up in school for being a "mama's boy." I put up with being picked on; they can put up with quitting.
Cigarettes are legal, and cigarette companies should be allowed to sell them. Cartoon Camels and CEO's who pretend cigarettes are not addictive or unhealthy are not the source of the cigarette problem. The problem lies in the individuals who day after day consciously make the decision to damage their health by smoking and are unwilling to accept the consequences.
People, including kids, who smoke, know what they are doing. Cigarette companies are doing their job. If people want to kill themselves to be cool, I say, "let cigarette companies profit from their stupidity."
