Islam, Christianity, and Judaism are all the same. I have a religion that is different.written - 09/21/2005 Religion does two things. Tells us where the universe, our planet, and life came from and based on that explanation, lays out a prescription of what we should do with our lives. Islam, Christianity, and Judaism all say that a mythical deity named “god” created the universe, our planet and our lives. They also claim that he is still micro-managing our planet today! Thus, based on that presumption, our objective in life should be to obey god. Then all three religions have books that lay out the rules supposedly written by god that should be followed as closely as possible. There are nuance differences within the religions, but they are basically the same. For example, we would agree that all baseball teams are doing the same thing . . . playing baseball. We wouldn’t say that each team is completely different even though they have different color uniforms and play in different stadiums and have different strengths and weaknesses. Compared to almost any other professions, all professional baseball players regardless of which team they are on are all basically in the same profession. The same is true for Islam, Christianity, and Judaism. Some nuances are different such as whether they believe god tells them to rest on Saturday or Sunday. Or whether they believe god says they should eat certain animals or not. Or which what time of day they should pray or even what type of clothing they should wear. But these individual customs do not really alter the main similarity of all three religions which tell people: God rules, thus obey. If you want a different religion, try mine! My religion says, I have no idea where the universe, our planet or life came from and no one will figure it in our lifetime or maybe ever. Not only do we not know where the universe comes from, we don’t know anything 100%, we are just making best guesses every day. But one thing we do know for sure is that we like being happy! Thus, we should devote our lives to making sure that we are happy. Some fear that a pursuit of happiness creates a desire or need to hurt others, but that is not true. It is the unhappy people who express their unhappiness by hurting others. People naturally feel good about helping others and humans naturally empathize with others. A person who is self satisfied will have the ability and desire to help others, not the opposite. Also, our system of government, democracy, and our free market economy all operate most efficiently based on the assumption that everyone in society is pursuing their self interest. Thus my religion is that all we know is that we like to be happy, so make sure you are happy and if you have your shit together, try to make others happy as well.
