I am qualified to speak on this subject and have ideas worth considering

Since 1994, I have been talking, emailing, and writing on Attention Deficit Disorder extensively. Thousands of people have read and commented on my essays and I have conversed via email with thousands of people on this subject.

I know many people who have been diagnosed with ADD including my brother. I would not be diagnosed as ADD today, but that is because I spend one hour every morning organizing for my day making a ‘things to do list". Then I refer to that list constantly throughout the day. And once every couple weeks I take a couple hours to review my longer-term goals. If it weren’t for that behavior, my life (and brain) would certainly be in disorder.

In school, I graduated #5 in my class mostly by memorizing stupid stuff and by kissing teacher’s asses. Most people who do well in school get convinced that they are intellectually superior, but I was not fooled. I also understood that the people who did poorly were not "disordered" or "stupid".

Schools don’t teach mind control skills at all and most people don’t spend 2 minutes organizing their life. Coincidentally most of the problems associated with ADD come from an inability to control one’s brain. Until I see schools teaching mind control and until I see people spending significant time working on their brains, then I refuse to call people who struggle with mind control "mentally disordered".
